# WORK ORDER — Station 4: VS Code + an agent (GLAMMBOX pack)

Install the editor, then wire in a real coding agent — Claude Code first, the
Codex extension second — signed in by a human, ask-before-write by default.

## Goal
VS Code installed, one agent extension added and signed in, one folder
opened, and one real job run with the agent asking before it writes.

## Prerequisites
- The account from Station 1 (Claude or ChatGPT/OpenAI — either works here;
Claude Code needs a Claude account, the Codex extension needs an OpenAI
  account).
- The home folder from Station 3.

## Steps
1. Install VS Code from the official site: https://code.visualstudio.com/.
Open it once and confirm it starts.
2. Add an agent, in this order:
   - Claude Code — the house's proven door. Official docs:
     https://code.claude.com/docs/en/overview. Install it either
as the VS Code extension from the Extensions view (search "Claude
Code") or the terminal CLI per the docs page.
   - Codex — OpenAI's coding agent. Official page: https://openai.com/codex/.
Install the VS Code extension from the Extensions view (search
"Codex") or follow the official quickstart.
3. Sign in yourself. A human types the login for either agent — never paste
in a copied session token or share a login link from someone else.
4. File → Open Folder, and pick the one home folder from Station 3. Do not
open the whole home directory or a drive root.
5. Set the agent to ask before it writes (Claude Code's permission prompts
default this way; Codex calls the setting "Ask for approval"). Do not
turn on full/unattended access for this first run.
6. Give it one small, real job in that folder — a note to organize, a file
to rename, a short script to write. Watch it propose the change before
   accepting.
7. Read the diff or the proposed edit before accepting it. Note whether it
   did what you asked.

## Verification
- The agent is signed in under the person's own account.
- Only the Station 3 home folder was opened — not the whole computer.
- The person can describe one real edit the agent proposed and whether they
  accepted or rejected it.

## Honest costs
VS Code is free. Claude Code and the Codex extension use whichever account
tier was chosen in Station 1 — no separate purchase to install them.
